Your Sports* and Therapeutic Massage Experts in St George

Enjoy a superior massage with our talented and highly trained staff. With a focus on your health and well being, our goal is a massage that is therapeutic and relaxing. We employ the best techniques from Swedish, Shiatsu, Sports & Injury Massage*, Reflexology, Trigger Point, Structural Integration, and Lomi-Lomi to give you a custom massage and a wonderful experience each time.

StGeorgeMassage is a Therapist Driven organization.  Although some services all of our therapists can perform with equally beneficial results, certain services with more specific qualifications are only practiced by those therapists with additional training and expertise, or ones who have the technical skills required. We also only allow these modalities to be practiced by a therapist with a strong passion for that specified modality or service. This is a very important component of getting the best care possible; we don't do cookie cutter massages at StGeorgeMassage, nor what is typical in a spa environment. That is the StGeorgeMassage difference!

Therapeutic Tandem Massage (i.e. Four Hands)

At StGeorgeMassage, we combine two schools of thought for this modality, which was created by Jared and Jamilee McQuivey, LMT.  Your session will consist of two therapists working in unison, on one client. With the therapists working together, the client receives twice as much therapy as a one-on-one session.
There are two components of Therapeutic Tandem Massage that make up a session. The first, called “mirror massage”, originated in India thousands of years ago and requires that both therapists are working in exact unison with one another, stroke by stroke. The second, “asynchronous” massage, is where the two therapists work in a complementary way, but are not exact mirror opposites. For example, one therapist may be at the head of the table relaxing the neck, while the other therapist works on reflex points on the feet.

A Tandem Massage routine is a seamless dance of both mirror and asynchronous work that incorporates a variety of massage modalities such as deep tissue, stretching, reflexology, with long-flowing Swedish massage strokes.

Why Tandem Massage?

·  The client receives twice as much work and healing benefits in the time allotted.

·  Because of the extra sensory input, many clients find it easier to let go when receiving Tandem Massage.

·  The Mirror Massage techniques balance both sides of the brain deeply relaxing the nervous system and creating harmony within the client’s body.

Craniosacral Therapy (CST)*

A noninvasive therapy technique that addresses the head, spinal column, and sacrum.  This massage therapy uses lite touch, to improve circulation of cerebrospinal fluid, releases compressions, and improves the overall functionality of the central nervous system. This approach aimed to release inconvenient compression in areas that often cause stress and pain.  Simply put, the goal: restore the natural position of the bones to reduce stress from chronic injuries. When done correctly by a trained practitioner, cranial sacral therapy can eliminate migraines, lessen unbearable neck and back pain, and relieve temporomandibular joint disorder (i.e.inflammation of the joint connected to the lower jaw and skull).

Cranial sacral therapy also includes scalp massages to address common head pains and elicit relaxation.  Muscles in the scalp are responsible for emitting facial expressions. Tension can build and cause headaches, and a single session can reduce or even eliminate this tension.

Lymphatic Drainage Therapy

Lymphatic Drainage Therapy is a form of gentle massage that encourages the movement of lymph fluids around the body, stimulating function of the immune system, and balances the autonomic nervous system.

Lymphatic Drainage Therapy can benefit people with lymphedema, fibromyalgia, and other conditions.

LDT practitioners develop the skill to perceive and respond to the body's innate ability to heal itself. The practitioner can then reroute the lymph by following the subtle indications given by the body enhancing the healing process.

Lomi Lomi works from the belief that memories are not just stored in the brain and mind, but also in every cell of the human body. A Lomi Lomi massage is designed to help the body let go of its old patterns and behaviors that can cause muscle tension.

What Makes St George Massage The Best?

Our goal is to make massage an important part of what keeps you healthy. Whether your goal is pain relief, better performance, or rejuvenating and de-stressing, we customize each session to your body and your goals for the session.

We don't just do deep tissue but “all tissue”. Using the most effective strokes for each muscle group, working with the grain of the tissue fibers. We adjust the strokes from light to deep to suit your likes.

We service clients of all ages and specialize in Sports Massage, Injury and rehabilitation, Senior care, Pre-Natal and Post Natal massage and partner coaching, Pain management, Trigger Point, movement and structural analysis along with structural bodywork. We believe it's important to respect and honor our clients which is why so many people have come to us for years. When you compare us with others, consider these major differences:

With us an hour means 60 minutes, not 50. Your session begins the minute you step into the massage room.

Never any membership contracts, just a great therapeutic massage at a great price when you want it without worries of having your checking account or credit card dinged.

No gimmicks just a great therapeutic massage. We don't do hair or nails or charge you extra for relaxation rooms, dipping pools, hot towels, foot soaks. We will use essential oils or hot towels when it is appropriate for your specific treatment. This way we are spending more time on therapeutic massage than “feel good' treatments and keeping our costs reasonable so you can come in more often.

Our Professionals

The therapists at StGeorgeMassage want you to know that there is a difference in the types of massage available in Southern Utah. Most establishments offer you “Spa Massage” and while this type of massage is definitely beneficial in helping to reduce stress and helping you relax, it, in most cases, just doesn’t go far enough to address your specific health needs. Whereas, “Therapeutic Massage,” as we practice it, is designed to help you achieve your specific wellness goals. Sports massage will not only help you increase endurance and performance, but always reduces the likelihood of many athletic injuries. Injury massage helps the body heal and recover more quickly from injury, surgery, and illness. Structural massage is designed to correct postural and movement imbalances so that we can function more efficiently with the constant force of gravity. Pre-Natal and Post Natal massage can reduce stretch marks and make the transitions occurring to both Mother and Child smoother.

These are just a few of the differences of “therapeutic massage” which can have lasting and dynamic effects. We have created a therapist driven practice where we attract the kind of individual who wants to continually improve their skills and whose primary concern is for the benefit of those we treat.
